Examined sectors include monetary and fiscal policy, credit conditions, inflation, the labor market, real estate, demographics, and key risks. Each four-page report covers an individual city and features a written analysis of recent performance and the outlook, a five-year forecast of key indicators, and examination of factors driving the economy, including employment by industry, housing, income, migration, and population.
Each report also includes Moody’s Analytics forecasts of key indicators, top employers, industrial structure, commercial real estate drivers, strengths and weaknesses and risks, business cycle status, and a map of the area.

Precis® State and Metro Reports +
Concise analysis and data on the current and expected economic conditions for all U.S. states, territories and metropolitan areas. Each five-page report covers an individual state or metro area and features a written analysis of recent performance and the outlook, a five-year forecast of key indicators, and examination of factors driving the economy, including employment by industry, housing, income, migration, education, and population.
Each report also includes exclusive indicators of Moody’s Analytics, including business cycle status, cost of doing business, cost of living, vitality, quality of life, housing affordability, industrial structure, entrepreneurship, skills mismatch, and economic disenfranchisement, plus a map of the area with key demographic and housing data.
State reports are updated three times yearly.
Metropolitan area reports for the largest 25 metro areas (by population) are updated four times per year. Reports for the smallest 200 metro areas are updated two times per year, and all others are updated three times yearly.
