puppy fun classes

Your puppy is a social animal who needs challenges for both their curious mind and their active body. If you’re looking for something fun to do with your dog, consider joining one of these interesting classes:

  1. Agility: Agility training involves teaching your dog to run through an obstacle course. This is a great mental and physical exercise for your puppy. Agility competitions can also be fun for owners with a competitive spirit. If a class isn’t within your budget, you can consider setting up obstacle courses in your yard.
  2. Lure coursing: The dog chases a mechanized lure around a large course. This activity mimics tracking live prey and is a great exercise for your bestie.
  3. Dock diving: Dock diving is a fun dog sport in which you toss a toy into a pool of water at the end of a long dock. Your dog jumps into the pool as far as they can and retrieves the toy. Again, this is a great exercise for your puppy.
  4. Dog dancing: It’s exactly what it sounds like. You and your puppy will learn choreographed dances. As part of this, your pup will learn a lot of fun commands that can wow your visitors.
  5. Tracking or scent work: Dogs have very sensitive noses, and they like to put them to good use. Tracking classes teach your dog to find something based on scent.
  6. Therapy training: Therapy dogs provide comfort to people who are going through tough times, such as a long hospitalization or end-of-life care. Therapy dog training may be a fulfilling way for you and your pup to give back to the community.

If you don’t have the budget or time to commit to a class, consider looking into social groups for dogs.
